What is high tea?
High Tea is the tradition of a seated afternoon tea where small finger-food or petit-fours are served on fine china or silverware with pots of tea.
Generally the table setting is quite elaborate and the focus is on loose-leaf tea varieties and the fancy teacup and saucer sets used to serve them in.
What kind of food do you provide?
The Little Sparrow team pride themselves in providing a better quality and quantity of food and tea than their competitors.
We can adapt to whatever the host needs but generally speaking we prefer finger sandwiches, quiches, scones, fresh fruit, biscuits and whatever else is in season to keep the menu as traditional as possible. These are all presented with fresh flowers on a gorgeous 3 tier cake stand to share among 2 or 3 guests.
What if my guests have special dietary needs?
We are more than happy to cater for vegetarian or gluten-free/nut free guests. Just let us know well in advance.
What if I live outside Adelaide metropolitan?
That's okay!
Just let us know where you would like to host your high tea's and we can work out any additional travel costs (if required).
How long does the sitting go for?
Generally 2 hours of relaxed, tea drinking bliss.....!
Whats the difference with loose leaf tea?
Loose leaf tea has been tampered with much less and has that 'just picked' smell. It allows a deeper infusion as its combined with water in the pot and floats around giving maximum flavour.
At Little Sparrow High Tea, we serve a range of white, black and blend teas, some you would already heard of like green, chai, peppermint and earl grey and others you will not have like vanilla sencha, white rose, magnolia and jasmine.
If you have a specific request, just ask!
How many guests can you cater for?
We can cater for up to 25-30 guests and the minimum number of guests is10
What is the cost?
Little Sparrow High Tea is only $40 per person
(or$25 per child for little princess high tea's).
AND we come to you!
What do I need to do?
Absolutely nothing if you so choose!
Just choose your venue and have your guests meet us there. We can organise the garden licence for you, set up our table and chairs, set everything up and fully service your guests for 2 hours and all you need to do is enjoy the occasion!
Otherwise you can do the set-up and we can arrange the table with cutlery and crockery and go from there!
